Dr Jo Burrell was featured in HR Zone magazine discussing our HR Mental Wellbeing 2025 survey and drawing on the experiences of 1,400 HR professionals. The results of the survey were striking and shone a light on a growing issue many organisations are still overlooking: HR is under serious strain.

People mingle at a business event in a large hall with high windows. Attendees chat, holding drinks. "Vexta" banners hang on walls.

Burnout, anxiety and emotional exhaustion are widespread, driven by the relentless pressure of supporting others through change, conflict and uncertainty, often without adequate support themselves.

The findings of this survey reinforce what we see every day: HR professionals need a safe, structured space to process the emotional load of their role, reflect, and reset. Without it, the risk isn’t just individual burnout, it’s reduced effectiveness across the entire organisation.

Investing in HR supervision offers a potential solution, providing the support needed for HR that will allow them to protect your people, strengthen decision-making and build truly resilient organisations.
