My Weekly Magazine: Beat the January Blues

We've been really busy on this topic this year, with many national and local news reports citing us. Here we feature in My Weekly magazine discussing the importance of spending time outdoors, resting and scheduling time for things we enjoy - hobbies, time with friends and family, interests and of course exercise.

Exercise is often central to our mental health and wellbeing, but when the days are dark and the weather is inclement we can find our motivation ebbing away as we crave cosy duvet days and high carb meals. If you struggle with motivation at this time of year, try planning activities, enlisting the help of friends and ensuring you are doing exercise that you enjoy. This may just be walking, or running, but could also be a team sport (you're never too old to start!), dancing or even singing. These are all activities that can boost your parasympathetic nervous system allowing you to feel calm and connected.
